Giclée Reproductions - About
Giclée prints are fine art reproductions created with advanced digital technology. The word Giclé (pronounced zhee-clay) is derived from the French verb, gicler, meaning to spray or squirt. The original art work is photographed, a high resolution digital image is created and read by a computer, which then relays the image to a six color, large format printer. The printer produces the image by delivering a very fine spray of ink, each droplet four times smaller than a human hair. The use of a full color spectrum provides finest detail and color accuracy of the artists original work. Archival quality inks, sprayed on to artist canvas or watercolor paper, insure longevity and the finest color reproduction. Giclé fine art prints are shown in museums and galleries around the world.
